Autumn in Newtown

Here's another picture from my Newtown, Powys, Wales. I did it sitting by the river Hafren (Severn), in this September. The colours of fall are more muted in Britain than in Virginia, Vladivostok or Moscow, but it is still the most beautiful time of the year - in my opinion. The combination of golden brown leaves and emerald green grass is stunning.

The painting is available from Etsy:

  1. Your Marshland painting reminds me of something by Van Gogh.

  2. Yes, I suddenly started to read a lot about him this summer - mostly because of socionics theory according to which I probably see the world in a similar way. I do enjoy working in this style very much but I'm not sure if I stay with it for very long. Van Gogh himself I think used to adopt styles from many artists he liked before he created his own.
